wbw2015-logo-m2The first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week. 2015 is the 23rd year of this celebration. Each year, from August 1st through the 7th, breastfeeding is observed around the world. The goal of WBW is to support, protect and promote breastfeeding for all women.

According to the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, “This World Breastfeeding Week, WABA calls for concerted global action to support women to combine breastfeeding and work. Whether a woman is working in the formal, non-formal or home setting, it is necessary that she is empowered in claiming her and her baby’s right to breastfeed.”1843_11-710social

Milk Nursingwear has been busy behind the scenes supporting WBW celebrations across the United States by donating stylish nursing tops to events occurring coast-to-coast! From La Leche League happenings to ILCA conventions to WIC programs to birth, breastfeeding & baby fairs, Milk is supporting events nationwide with our donations.

We at Milk Nursingwear are proud to be a part of WBW. We applaud all of you organizing and attending World Breastfeeding events in your area. Enjoy the festivities!

Baby Product Recalls

July 16, 2015

We at Milk Nursingwear know nothing is more important than your little one’s safety.  Each year many baby related products are recalled due to not meeting national safety standards. It’s important to stay up to date and protect your family from any hidden dangers.

You should make an effort to regularly check out listings for product recalls, especially if you choose to shop at consignment stores or garage sales or decide to accept hand-me-downs from friends and family.

One good place to start – the government regulated websites that list all products recalled in the United States.

 CPSC_logo_redblue_QRU.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

US Food and Drug Administration

NHTSA_hiNational Highway Traffic Safety Administration

There are also a couple of great parenting websites that make these recalls a little easier to navigate.

bQyZAs6ISafe Kids Worldwide compiles a monthly as well as a yearly listing of recalls specifically impacting child and baby products.

logo_200x200BabyCenter takes a different approach.  They have created a Product Recall Finder which is a searchable database.

No matter where you choose to get informed, make it a priority for the loved ones in your life.
